What is an effective academic private lesson
Having a private teacher (one-to-one), for the student, could be a great idea, especially when he or she has to reinforce lessons or structures that are a challenge to him / her.
Nevertheless, it could be a waste of time when a teacher does not fit the expectations. For that reason, it is important to get effective class, and get some issues to give effective private lessons.
- Strong motivation:
If you do not have a purpuse you can´t be helpful for your student who really needs a good service.
- Dedication and hard work:
It is not easy to get a student involved in your class, even it is private, so be creative every time you are with your student.

When you have a goal, you can have a syllabus to get students involved in your class.

Every student is different, so plan and structure is according to student’s needs and interests
- Follow regular class timing:
Be respectfull with your time and others. Do not extend much time.
- Warmer exercises and fillers:
Prepare good exercises, according to your students’ weakness and strengths to reinforce and empower
- Be honest with your abilities:
An effective teacher, must be honest. He or she cannot have a whole knowledge and sometimes, students require other issues that are not into teacher’s information. Then, if you are not able to help in an appropriate way, you can refer another professional who can do it much better.
